
Johannes (Jan) Coert [1737 – 1801]
In 1737 Johannes (Jan) Coert
was born in Schötmar (Germany). On the 2nd of February 1756 he went to Indonesia
as a Soldier. In 1781 he became Luietenant. Between 1788 and
1789 he was Commander of
Bancallang and Captain/Commander of Pasoeroean. Johannes Coert married Maria
Agnita (or Augusta) van Haack. In 1801 he died in Pasuruan. He was buried in
grave-yard Pasuruan (a mausoleum). In 1784, 18th January, he married
Anna Louisa Feith (2nd wife; probably born in Cochin 27th
March 1757). They had one son Jacob Fredrik, bron in Bancallang 30th
September 1788.

In Semarang 1772 Maria Elizabeth Coert was
born (it could have been also 1769). On the 13th of November 1848
she died in Soerabaja. She married in 1786, on the 21st of October,
Johannes Gerardus van den Berg. They devorced in 1814. They had three children.
Johannes Rudolf (born: 11th October 1789 in Djokjakarta; died: 16th
of May 1817 in Saparoea) , Anna Louise (born: in 1792 in Djokjakarta; died: 8th
of August 1825 in Paris) and Carel Lodewijk (born: 14th of September
1798 in Djokjakarta; died: 22th of October 1873 in Djokjakarta). Van den Berg
was born on the 13th of November 1762, in Utrecht (Holland) and died
in 1842 on the 4th of August. He was chief merchant and resident of the
‘Vorstenlanden’. He was also member of
the ‘Weeskamer’ and member of the Counsel of Justice in Batavia. Johannes Gerardus van den
Berg was the son of Johannes van den Berg and Geertruyda van Bronckhorst.

She was born in Djokjakarta in 1777. On
the 7th of April 1838 she died in Batavia. In 1794 she married
‘Jonkheer’ Johan Christiaan Goldman. They had 12 children. One of them was
Maria Elizabeth Goldman (wife of Nicolaas Wilhelmus Coert). She also married
Arnold van IJsseldijk. It is also possible that Maria Elizabeth died in 1867
instead of 5th of April 1876. Johan Christiaan Goldman was born in
Dresden (East Germany) on the 3rd of December 1765. Johan Christiaan got the
‘adelsverheffing’ (nobility) K.B. 19th of November; number 84. He was vice-president of the Counsel of Indonesia. Goldman died in 1840
on the 8th of September in Tjiomas/Bantam. His parents were Carel
Frederik Goldman and Maria Schroder.
He was born in 1786. His place of birth
was Djokjakarta. He was 2nd head of merchant and bookkeeper.
He died before 1824. He first married to Anna Louisa Futh on the 17th
of October 1807. In Batavia he then married Sara Anthonia Theodora Poelman on
the 30th of September 1810. Sara Poelman was born in 1788 in Batavia. She was
the daughter of Philippina Maria Theodora van Basel and
(probable) Steven Poelman. Steven Poelman was born on the 24th of
June 1746 in Goes (Holland) and died on the 7th of November 1794.
Sara Poelman’s sister was probable Adriana Philippina Theodora (born on the 15th of September 1784).
